On an afternoon when the Springboro Panthers played their best game of the season the Lakota West Firebirds picked the wrong day to be the opposition. Springboro jumped to an early lead on the strength of 7 consecutive points by Jordan Hobbs and then expanded that lead by outscoring West 24 to 11in the second quarter to take a 38-20 lead into halftime. Peyton Nation scored 10 2nd period points to spark Boro.

The second half was more of the same as the Panthers extended their halftime advantage by 9 more points in the third stanza. While the offense was clicking, the defense was holding a strong West offense in check and would ultimately outrebound West 36-16 in decisive fashion. When the 4th quarter dust settled the Lady Panthers had a dominant 71-43 win and their first district title since 2016.

Jordan Hobbs led all scorers with 26 points. She added 10 rebounds to get the double-double. Peyton Nation tallied 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Julia Secrist scored 12 points, dished out 6 assists, and had 4 boards on top of her always stellar defense.

Springboro is now 21-5 overall. They play Mount Notre Dame on Wednesday night at 8pm at Princeton HS. The Cougars are 26-0, ranked #1 in Ohio and are ranked #3 in the nation. Additionally they are the defending state division 1 champions.
